Silver Travertine Split Face Ledger Panel

The format is a ledger panel, meaning narrow strips of stone bonded to a backing so the pieces interlock along their long edges. That construction is what makes the product practical. Setting individual split pieces by hand would be slow and would leave visible courses; a panel arrives with its courses already assembled and its ends stepped, so adjacent panels lock together and the joins between them vanish into the general irregularity.

Because the surface is a natural break, no two panels are alike and the depth of relief varies from piece to piece. That is the point of the material, but it also means the depth cannot be specified precisely, and the finished wall will project further in places than a drawing might suggest.

This is cladding for vertical surfaces: fireplace surrounds, feature walls, chimney breasts, bar and reception fronts. It cannot be walked on, and its many crevices make it unsuitable anywhere that needs regular wiping down.
