Carrara White Tumbled Marble Hexagon Mosaic Tile 23x23

Carrara's character comes from grey veining drifting across a milky ground, and the spacing of that drift is measured in tens of centimetres. Cut into 23 mm hexagons, most pieces contain no vein at all, a few contain a fragment, and none carries a passage long enough to read as movement. What survives is the ground colour with an occasional soft grey incident: a warm off-white field rather than a figured marble.

That is not a loss if it is what you are after. A plain, fine-grained floor is the right partner for a patterned wall, a strong sanitaryware silhouette or a bold paint colour, and Carrara at this scale supplies one in stone rather than in a manufactured tile. It is also why the small white hexagon has been a bathroom staple for well over a century.

Tumbling reinforces the effect, frosting each face and rounding every edge, which lightens the sheet further and turns the many joints into texture rather than a grid. The density of those joints is what gives a small hexagon its footing on a wet floor. Seal before grouting, and choose a grout close to the stone unless the grid is meant to be the pattern.
