Carrara White - Platinum Grey Honed Marble Hexagon Mosaic Tiles 23x23

Tumbling abrades every face and rounds every corner. On a 23 mm piece the eased edge is a large proportion of what you see, so the white and grey blur into one another and the sheet resolves into a single soft speckle, closer to terrazzo than to a two-tone mosaic. Honing does the opposite. A level face with a true edge keeps each hexagon a distinct object with a definite colour, so the grey pieces stay separate and legible against the Carrara. You can still read it as two stones.

Which is right depends on the intention. If the mosaic is a quiet ground beneath something more decorative, tumbled is the better answer. If the scattered grey is meant to be part of the design and not merely a texture, honed is the only version that delivers it.

A honed face also shows any step between sheets more clearly than a broken one, so a level substrate matters. Both marbles are calcitic; seal before grouting and clean with neutral products.
