Honed mosaic tiles

Honing stops the grinding sequence before the stone starts to shine. The face is taken dead flat, the arris stays crisp, and what you are left with is the colour of the stone and nothing else — no reflection competing with the veining. It is the broadest group in the mosaic range and the only finish we hold across all four materials, so the same sheet geometry can be had in marble, limestone, travertine or onyx.

The flat matt face is also the most forgiving one to live with. Calcite stone dulls where acid touches it, and a dull mark on an already-matt surface is very hard to see; on a mirror finish it is the first thing you notice. That is why honed sheets end up on bathroom floors and shower benches far more often than any other face we sell, and why they sit comfortably in a room that already has gloss in it from paint, glass or chrome.
